Weekly news round-up February 12thFebruary 12, 2018
Despite the wintry weather and course closure on Wednesday, plenty of golf has been played during the week. Kim Bradfield continued her winning form in the Ladies Sunday Medal last weekend. In the monthly Ladies Morning 12-hole stableford, Sandra Williams came in with most points, whilst in the weekly Stableford competition Carolyn Devaney won on countback from Sue Bidwell.
The seniors overcame the buggy and trolley ban and scored well on Friday, with Alan Hootton coming in with 35 points, ahead of Alan Saunders, who was second on count back from Peter Law.
In the Saturday Swindle Michael Moor finished first with a respectable 33 points, considering the conditions, whilst in the Thursday Roll Up, Mial Walker just pipped Andrew Ball to first place on countback.
Competitors in Sundays three-man team competition were greeted by blues skies and a bitter North Westerly wind, making scoring challenging on the outward holes. Phillips, Hart and Keogh came in with a four under par total of 76 points, three shots clear of their nearest challengers.
