After a very disruptive weather related week, members made the most of the sun on Saturday and with the trolley ban lifted at last club president, Mike Thrower won the Medal with an impressive nett 66, beating Dave Caunce who had a nett 69 on count back, into second place.
The Ladies were also competing in a Medal on Saturday with Steph Denton coming in first, scoring a nett 73 and beating Kath Caunce into second. During the week some of the Ladies played a 4 clubs and putter 12-hole game which Kim Bradfield won with 25 points, beating Kath Caunce by 2.
Monday’ s Scratch mens team friendly game was lost 2 – 1 at Brickenden Grange. The Seniors 4 clubs and putter team game on Wednesday was won by S Knight, M Thrower and A Saunders with A Hootton, A Forbes and K Taylor in second place. The midweek Medal was won by R McShane with a nett 72. In the Friday Seniors Winter League, A Saunders won with 36 points with D Marsh in second place.
Sunday golfers enjoyed much more favourable conditions than in recent weeks, with the single stableford competition being won with 38 points by Mark Crowley, ahead of Nick Scott on countback
