Members competed for The Silver Jubilee Trophy on Wednesday. There was a very good turnout to play in warm, summery conditions and to watch Roy Wilson win with 44 points, followed by Keith Taylor with 40. The Course and the Heath are looking quite spectacular in the Spring sunshine and it is greatl to note the improvements in the Golf Course now the weather is improving. We are grateful to the Greens Staff for all their efforts during the winter season.
On Thursday the Ladies also benefitted from kinder weather for their Coronation Foursomes game. Vice Captain Sandy Griffin and partner Helen Steverson won by 1 point on the day with 35points, over Lady Captain Kim Bradfield and her partner Steph Denton. However in the Alternate game on Saturday, Tracey Parsons and Sue Bidwell came in with a stunning score of 39 points to beat everyone.
In the Thursday Roll Up Andrew Ball won on count back with 40 points, over Tony Skinner.
Then on Sunday the single Stableford was won by Gary Pullin with 37 points, followed by Mark Moule with 36.
Finally the Ladies played away on Sunday, for the first time in the Annodata Cup, against Haverhill. The result was disappointing with only 1 win out of 5. Congratulations to Tracey Parsons for winning her match.
