During a beautiful early Spring week, the Ladies enjoyed sunny conditions to play their February Stableford. Marjory Humphreys brought out her A game to win, scoring a marvellous 35 points on Thursday, just ahead of Sandra Joyner with 34. On Saturday in the Alternate Stableford Tracey Parsons equalled the score of 35 points, with Sandra Williams coming in second.
The Thursday Roll Up was won by Colin Smith with 45 points, followed by Andrew Maslen with 41.
The Winter league on Friday was won by Alan Hootton with 39 points, ahead of Keith Taylor with 37.
The Saturday Swindle was won by Barry Buckerfield with 43 points, with Pete Tidey in second place with 41. A wet and windy Sunday saw the Mens Medal won by Mark Pearson with a nett 69, followed by Tom Woods with a nett 72.
Also on Saturday the annual England V Celts match was contested. Having been “thrown” by England last year due to the dreadful weather, this year 28 players took part, with England winning 4½ to 2½ . The match was followed by an enjoyable evening meal with partners in the Clubhouse. Thanks to the respective captains, Sid and John for their excellent organisation.
