Weekly News March 9th


Despite the very changeable weather conditions this Winter, Royston Golf Club remains open and golfers in the area can challenge themselves to play against all the elements on some days.
The Ladies games have been very affected by the gale force winds and the rain but on Saturday they were able to play in the Hospital Cup. Denise Moody was the winner with Kath Caunce coming in second on count back. In the Mens game on Saturday Graham Richardson won the Trophy with 40 points, just one ahead of Tim Moss.
Midweek 23 Seniors enjoyed a beautiful, sunny morning game which Stuart Knight won with 39 points, ahead of Alan Saunders’ 38. Then the Roll Up on Thursday was played in a downpour and won by Mick Joyner with an amazing 40 points, followed by Pete Rutter on 35.
In the Friday Winter League Pete Law continues to lead the way, coming in first this week with 38 points, whilst Stuart Knight performed well again with a second place 37.
Finally in the Sunday 4 Ball Betterball Gary Noble and Andy Peters came in first with 38 points, ahead of John Davison and Mark Pearson’s 36.
