Weekly News November 11th


On Thursday 7th November the Ladies Section held their AGM. The out going Lady Captain Kim Bradfield reported on their many achievements over the year and thanked the RGC Staff, including Luke Bailey, the Greens Team, the Bar and Catering Team and the Office and Management Team for all their help and support during her Term of Office. She thanked the Ladies Section especially who are always so committed and friendly. Finally she welcomed Sandy Griffin into her new role by presenting her with the Silver Chain of Office and added that she felt sure she would come to love being the Lady Captain as she had. The meeting was well attended and finished with drinks in the Lounge for members and guests.Earlier in the week the Ladies had gathered for the November 12 hole Ladies Morning which was well supported and 4 members came in with a winning score of 21. Then on Saturday in the Bogey Competition Sue Bidwell came in first with a fabulous round, pushing Sarah Buckerfield to second place.In the middle of the week Keith Cridland won the Stableford with a wonderful 43 points, followed by Roger Craigen with 39.The Thursday Roll Up was won this week by Paul Thomson with 38 points, followed closely by Mick Joyner with another good score of 37.Pete Law won the Friday Winter League game with 34 points, 3 points more than new Senior Captain Alan Hootton.At the weekend the Saturday Swindle was won by Tom Woods, one of 5 players with 38 points, on count back from Lee Rogers. Then on Sunday Tom Westley came first in the Stableford with 37 points on count back from Stuart Phillips.
