Weekly News November 4th

We know Winter has begun when the Seniors start their Friday league games. This week the winner was Roger Craigen with 34 points, just beating the new Senior Captain Alan Hootton on count back. However at the beginning of the week the Seniors played their annual match with the Ladies and it was Pete Law with Linda Lakey who came in first, closely followed by Steve Ogilvie and his partner Sandra Williams. Thanks go to Marjory Humphreys for successfully organising the event again.
In the Thursday Roll Up Barry Rouse came in first with 42 points, followed by another great score of 41 points from Mick Joyner. That same day the Ladies played in the Daily Mail Qualifier. The pairing of Sandra Williams and Jane Millership too strong for the others, although Josie Seward and Bridget Long did their best and came in a close second place.
With many regular players keenly watching the Rugby World Cup Final, only 14 golfers went out on Saturday in the Swindle. So it was well done to Paul Holden who managed to score 33 points, just 1 point ahead of Alan Saunders in second place.
Finally in the Medal round on Sunday Trevor Sweeting came in first on count back with a net 68, just ahead of Pete Rutter.
