The club celebrated Winners on Friday at the Annual Presentation Evening. Club Captain Chris Watson was on hand to award the Trophies for the Men’s events, including Club Champion Stuart Phillips. This was followed by the Trophies for the Ladies, which were presented by Lady Captain Kim Bradfield, who was herself named Golfer Of The Year 2019. It was an evening to congratulate all the Winners throughout the year and to thank all members for their continuing support of the Golf Club.

Results during the week were more limited due to the weather conditions. The Thursday Roll Up had only 8 players this week but Mick Joyner braved the rain to score a winning 34 points, over Trevor Deards’ 31. On the same day the Ladies played their annual Lady Captain versus Lady Past Captains match which was reduced to 12 holes. Even so, only 2 of the 5 teams managed to complete the game, others sensibly turned back before becoming thoroughly drenched. That evening the Ladies enjoyed a wonderful meal at the Club and then presented prizes to the Winning Team, Sandra Williams, Steph Denton and Kim Bradfield and to the Runners Up, Jenny Jarvis, Helen Steverson and Kath Caunce.

Fortunately Saturday’s weather proved to be much better than expected and there was a good turnout for the Swindle. Adam McDonnell won with an amazing 43 points, followed by Gary Sandford’s 37.

Then in the 4 Ball Better Ball on Sunday, Stephen and Adam McDonnell triumphed together to score 47 points, 2 more than the Runners Up Lee Smith and Tom Westley.
