January 14, 2019

This week we welcomed members of the Royston Hockey Club and look forward to sharing the facilities and the Social events planned for this year. We hope there will be much interest in the Friday Night Music nights, Sports Quiz and Elvis Cabaret Evening.

Meanwhile on the golfing front Pete Law continues with his purple patch. He again came in first on Friday in the Winter League with 39 points, just beating Alan Evans into second with 38. There was more good scoring from the Men, with Sid Seward making 38 points on count back, from Gary Fortune and then Mial Walker in the Thursday Roll Up game. At the weekend Ben Bennett won the Saturday Swindle with 42 points on countback from Daniel Van Der Westhuizen, and in the Sunday Stableford game Steve March came in with 40 points followed by Pete Rutter with 39.

The Ladies have also seen some good scoring with Sandra Williams in first place on Thursday with 36 points, followed by Kath Caunce with 33. Then in the Alternate game on Saturday, Sue Bidwell scored 30 points over Tracey Parsons 28.
