Sunday 9th March Royston Golfers have that winning feeling
On Sunday 9th March the Royston Men took on the Cambridge University Stymies Team in a 36 Hole Matchplay event with 18 Holes of Foursomes in the morning followed by 18 Holes of Singles after lunch, this annual event has been a long standing fixture in our Club Diary and has always been well supported by our Members
This year was no exception with 12 Royston players taking on the youth of The Stymies - after 36 Holes of Matchplay golf Royston came out the victors with a 11 & 1/2 points to 6 & 1/2 points.
Also on the same day our Scratch Team had their first friendly of the season playing AWAY at Saffron Walden again this fixture is a well established fixture in our calendar played annually as a reverse fixture, this year it was our turn to play at Saffron Walden
The Team was 10 v 10 played in Singles Matchplay Format - the Royston team again had great success winning by 8 Points to 2
