Royston Golf Club men took on the Army in the resurrected annual fixture, the match was played in the spirit that it deserved with both sides having their wins but with Royston just edging the win overall.
This match used to be a long standing fixture, but with the barracks changing over the years became lost, so a big thank you to RGC Captain David Bidwell and Andy from the Army getting this fixture back on board.
Everybody had a great day with a great meal afterwards, thank you to the bar and Kitchen staff, the course was in great condition thanks to the greens staff, and this fixture is now in the diary for next year.
To cap it off, Captain Bidwell, had his second hole in one in 5 weeks, and apparently this time it did not go through the elephants legs and the whales mouth...or did it? as it was the same hole and same shot!
Congratulations to all those that played and I look forward to seeing you all again next year.
